Although there is an increasing number of SEO-companies out there following the same SEO-ethics we commit ourselves too, unfortunately there are still a lot that spam the market with frauduleus and deflective practices. Using manipulative techniques, their strategy is mostly based on using flaws in search engines’algorithms or deliberately trying to fool search engines in order to get websites (shortly) on top positions in the rankings. We are not the proper authority to forbid you to use such companies/services, though we do would like to give you the advice to be aware of what the implications might be. There is a chance your site might get away with using triques, obtaining temporarily high positions and seeing your visitor statistics boom temporarily. Though, search engines do increasingly monitor such unallowed practices and penatilize websites that they recognize as using deflecting techniques to influence search results. If you are serious about your business, have a longer-term planning in mind and would like to keep your domain name showing up in the search engines, we strongly advice you to think twice before letting yourself in with such golden promises. Why we do not guarantee you a #1 position When we talk about search result positions, we restrict ourselves to genuinely relevant and shorter keywords and keyword phrases that are used substantially by internet users to search for a certain type of product or service. Search Engine results are highly dynamic and determined by a great number of factors. Depending on region, language settings, keyword-typification and many other factors, your position in the engine varies. Depending on your market characterization, level of competition and available budget for optimization services, we can make predictions on what you can expect. For each SEO-consultant you may contact, such predictions are somewhat similar to the weather man on the 8 o’clock news explaining you tomorrow’s weather forecast. He’s often close but you cannot rule out surprises or give you fully detailed weather conditions (e.g. “tomorrow at 15 p.m. it will be 96,5 fahrenheit with a light rain around 16.35 p.m. in the southern neighborhoods of town”). Our clients come from a wide variety of businesses and markets and we are proud to achieve top 3 rankings for all our customers for relevant keywords and with continuous high rankings on the longer term. Again, depending on the client’s budget and market competitiveness, success rates vary, as do our customers expections. Generally speaken, a client’s site rankings in Google and Yahoo for specific keywords is not the goal for us but a means. Primarily, we strive for our clients getting more sales, prospects or interested contacts via their website and higher positions for keywords with a certain relevance is a powerfull tool to establish that. Search Engine Optimization is a marketing tool for creating visitor awareness of your site within your line of business in order to obtain increasing visits of potential customers. Why we do not submit your site to ten thousands of directories and free-for-all sites Why should we? Does it help your company if we would? No, it wouldn’t. We could hook you up with 10,000 links in no time and send you a nice invoice for it, though it would most likely not bring any positive effect to your website. You might be familiar with link building and the importance of backlinks to your site and having thousands of links to your site might sound like a great opportunity to get your website up the rankings. Reality however is somewhat more complicated… Indeed, referrals to your website are an important factor used by search engines to evaluate the importance of your website. Though, such referrals should be relevant as well, meaning that the referral sites should have a reason to place a link on their site to you. 1 relevant backlink can be quickly worth a 1000 times more than 1000 irrelevant backlinks. Link building can be compared to networking. For most business and industries, having a network of contacts is important, if not necessary, for the success, continuation and expansion of your company. Though, the relevancy of your achieved networking contacts is key to this success. I can give you a box of 10,000 random business cards and it probably won’t help you much. Instead, 15 business cards of persons that can truly help your business grow or expand are truly interesting. Unless you are in a highly competitive market, you probably do not need that much links to get high rankings in the major search engines. Together with our customers we set up a link building campaign that is mostly focused on one-way links, while reciprocal linking might be used on a small scale when appropriate. Link building is a time consuming effort and some pacience is generally required, though, in order to obtain a satisfying performance of your website with success as well on the longer term, quality link building will definitely pay off. Although we strongly advice against it, we cannot withhold our clients to acquire a free-for-all submission service besides or parallel to our SEO-efforts. Though, please keep in mind that obsessive or irrelevant link building schemes are quickly recognized and intercepted as link-farming, which most search engines penalize. What can you expect from us?
